So being fairly new to collecting, I've never known much about the 1922 D Lincoln Wheat cent, but as the both of us were looking at albums, comparing slots missing, I see the '22 D my father in law already had plugged, in the album he gifted me & my wife years ago! Honestly, I haven't taken it out of the album til yest, to look at the reverse. So, obviously, it has some circulation damage, on both sides, but the obverse looks awful doughy, compared to the reverse, then that last 2 looking off, and only at certain angles and lighting can you make out a D, just more like bump for a MM, but reverse, not so much? Just wanted to sew what everyone thinks, while She's getting her table together!

The issue was that they were give the dies to strike X amount of coins. We the dies broke down before the quantity was reached. So they help rescuing the dies by die polishing the dies were so abraded so much, that the coins design was almost gone. The sad part is that is pretty much what they looked like new. The rims has little to protect. So in circulation they were scared up a lot more. True there is circulation wear on the coin, but they were in sad condition even new. As mentioned it is a weak 'D'.

So is it worth anything? And how would you grade something like that, if it came out looking gnarly, yet brand new?
