Hello everyone. My husband passed away last year and I got back into penny collecting to help. I came across this 1971d penny in a recent roll. I am wanting to say some of this may be a mint error as there are marks from the collar on the edges. I also know some of it is post mint damage. You can see the design is still visible in the indent. and even though he is smashed Abe is there in the dent on the back as well as the roof does not line up on either side of the indent. Could it have gotten stuck during ejection and stampedPlease tell me what you think as I have been away from collecting for many many years now
I will have to resize some pics

1959 cent looks pretty normal. The other images a not errors, but someone intentionally damaged these coins in those images. Just because a wrecked car looks different, doesn't make it a factory error. Just face value on a damaged coin.

reverse pictures would help. The rim indentation on both sides makes me think damage, as a if struck with an industrial staple gun possibly?

Edited spelling from auto correct-_-

To confirm, is the linear feature raised, or sunken (incuse)? And yes, a pic of the reverse would be most welcome.

A reverse image will help - but this is just a damaged coin. you can see how the metal is bulging out from the sides where the 'dent' is. The collar in the mint would not permit any metal movement in that direction if it occurred during the strike.
