So I just found this 1943 it's non magnetic weighs 3.05 and appears to be bronze penny any thoughts? Alright more pictures drummm roll and for the one response about it being steal it's non magnetic..... Then Vdb does have a odd scratch beside it I will have to take another set of eyes to it....... Until then what we thinking Yes I used earth magnets connected to a 78 flux capacitor and still nothing... Tested same magnet on other metals and it is confirmed magnet was being used properly. (Glad I got the magnet down& ) And the photos look a lil on the gun metal side but there is a film on it? I dare not clean it however looks like dust but more permanent. Grey over shadow maybe a glue? So we all agree some sort of funny money? Shall I move on to another interesting coin? Edited by CitizenG 06/04/2022 4:51 pm

The one area that would concern me is the (vdb) area looks like some one tried to scratch it on incorrectly

And it's not in the right spot should be further left of those scratches. Can you see the (vdb) on that coin where it belongs

These photos appear to show a normal corroded 1943 steel cent.

I really doubt that it's a 43 copper . I'm looking at a 43steel cent with a lot of rust . I'm with nss-52 , are you sure your magnet is working ?

It looks like a common, rusty steel cent. Take a trip to Home Depot, I've purchased some nice, working magnets for not too much money.
