A common coin with over 820 million made, and yours is in slightly better than average condition, but most likely worth at least 25 cents. One has to get into the lofty high mint state grades to start getting value.

@flash, you are getting close to the time when quarters were made from silver (1964 and earlier), but this one is a spender.

What gave you the impression it was rare?
Not being sarcastic, just want to know where you got
this false information from.

Agree with the above--a common, circulated '66 quarter. Could be a good hole filler until something better comes along.

I agree except that in 2022 it is getting a little unlikely something better will ever come along. This is better made than 95% of '66 quarters and it's better preserved than 99% of them. That's a tough combo to beat.

I started my set in 1996 and mine is XF+ where this one is XF-.

I think you'll have to look through a box of quarters a month to have much chance of improving on it. There are "only" about 350 million left in circulation and they all look like they've been getting run over by traffic for more than half a century.

Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.
