Sorry but not seeing it. There should be a little nub of the 7 sticking out of the bottom left of the 8. Perhaps someone else can give an opinion.

This one can be dismissed easily by comparing the position of the date logo to the dentils and bust tip. The OP's example (sorry, not AU) shows a numeral 1 too far to the left of a genuine example.

More pictures won't change the fact that it is not an 1888/7. Look at the picture that nss-52 supplied, you are missing both markers.

Definitely not the 1888/7, and really a VF example overall. How did you come up with AU?

Dear Josha113n757, Although I believe there was 7 before, but the strike it's not strong enough. Perhaps the quality of the picture too blurry, so I can't see what you've imaging. From your first image, it's look like the top of 7 at the top of middle 8, But once again, it could be some mark cause by many factors. Also the mark look like the base of 1 between 1 and 8. Here's two image maybe can representing what you trying to say: Because I my self found a lot of mark on Indian head series, mostly on the date. But ussually weak mark. But the point is the mark must strong enough. If so, this art will not exciting and challenging anymore. Solo

As noted, the alignment between the date logo and the rim dentils confirms that this is not the overdate.

Thanks, expert, but we're talking about the 1888/7 overdate here.

Well it seems like I'm late to this party, I'll agree with the others that this is not an over date given the examples provided to prove otherwise.
