Hi everyone,

I have a 1857 Flying Eagle cent coin that appears to have some kind of error on the observe of the coin.
And a strange marks on the reverse.

Can someone please help me identify what this is error? See pictures below.

Also, does this take away from the value of the coin?

Any feedback is appreciated.

@solo, rather than a mint error, I'm seeing circulation wear and extensive surface porosity. Assuming the coin is real, perhaps it spent an extended period of time in water? I'm interested to see what others think.

Just looks like a pitted, low value coin to me. Worth less than $10.

Extreme corrosion. Possibly from being buried.

Yes... too bad for the condition.
And sometimes corrosion play tricks on eyes.

I agree with the above. Badly corroded and pitted and worth very little at this point. Definitely not a mint error.
