Let's say that I want to assemble a set of American Women Quarters with at least one of each mint mark (P, D, S)

For quarters with a S mint mark, which one(s) would you choose? Which one(s) would be found in an album (say, Dansco)?

S - uncirculated
S - clad proof
S - silver proof

Dansco albums typically have holes for one (date only), two (P&D), or four (P, D, S proof, S silver proof) examples for each type. Dansco has yet to recognize the S uncirculated quarters.

But if you just want to collect three for each lady, I like the S uncirculated as the third member.

Or you could put them in a CAPS album and either customize your pages or use blank pages. That way you can collect whatever you want. I don't usually collect quarters but I decided to collect the AWQs. I'm just going to leave the PDS rolls in the sealed white box they came in and the uncirculated and proof silver and clad sets in their OGP too. I am not sure if the uncirculated S in the rolls are the same finish as the uncirculated S in the set. I think they are.

It depends on which direction you choose to go. if you want the P,D, and S, then the uncirculated S will match better with the other 2 (P, D) The other way is to go for the 4 coin - P, D, S clad proof, S Silver proof. (I'm gonig to go for the 5 coin way though - P, D, S, S, and S uncirc and make an extra page for them.

If I had to pick one S, I think I would just go for (like Dearborn) the business-strike S to keep things consistent.

For my album, when it happens, I'll go for PDSSS and figure out something custom to make it happen, whether it's blank Dansco or Whitman pages, or a custom CAPS.

Cheers and good luck. Please keep us apprised of what you decide to do, preferably with pictures!
