Hello fellow coinsters, I have once again happened upon a 1972 penny with very little circulation. I found a die crack on the reverse running through UNITED. Then I noticed something on the obverse under LIBERTY. I'm confident somebody here will know what that is. Thank you. Your shared knowledge is greatly appreciated.

I think the clash shows part of the roofline of the Memorial.

Here's a Lincoln Memorial cent Die Clash overlay.

Thank you, Guys and\or Gals. Indeed it matches up with the Overlay on the Memorial Building.

This coin looks to have been plated, and is flaking off revealing the true copper color underneath under Liberty.

I agree with Dearborn. Cent has been replated and is now flaking part of it off. Keep searching!
