Hello, coin roll hunting I unwrapped this 1991 Denver and finding what looks like maybe a doubled die. It looks to me like what would be a tripled die. Though I don't know if that would even be possible. But I'm confident in saying I bet somewhere here does know. Thank you.

Split plating issue. When you see gray, the plating was split and the zinc is exposed. Liberty is showing DDD on those devices. As well as the reverse is also show the DDD towards the direction of the closest rim. That is what you are seeing. Not a doubled die.

Yes for sure there is some split plating, especially on the rev. I wonder if that isn't MD on the left bottom part of the Lincoln memorial?

Added: Or is that partly just the design, intended to show the building in perspective?
