I'm in France for the month and would love to do some coin roll hunting. Is there any point in hunting euros? What do people usually look for, if so? I know there are some commemorative, but I don't know if they carry any value above face. Are microstates findable in circulation? Any reference sites for doubled dies and other varieties?

I don't know of any references for Euro varieties but there are definitely some good doubled dies out there. I'd love to see a good reference be put together for Euro doubled dies!

The 2004-J Germany 5 Euro Cent is probably the big one: https://coins.ha.com/itm/errors/200...1158-12566.s

And I have found a 2002-J Germany 2 Euro DDO: http://crdievarieties.com/doku.php?...2eurosddo001

And with a quick search I see a there is a nice 2011 Austria 2 Euro DDO as well.

Some collect a set from each country, but I think just collecting a 2 Euro from each is nice.

I'm in Germany. So, I cannot speak how banks in France handle it. Yet, I suspect it's not much different than here in Germany.
Coin roll hunting is nearly impossible here in Germany. Either private/commercial banks don't sell coin rolls at all, or not to private customers, or only to persons who have an account at the bank. Secondly, one doesn't get coin rolls for face value. Some (but not all) banks charge a fee for selling coin rolls and fees for returing coins. This trend started five to ten years ago. When I read here on CCF about coin roll hunts in Australia or the USA I am pretty envious.

If you into Euros, yes.

Mostly, €2 commemorative coins and coins from microstates.

Yes, some €2 cc carry value above face.

Yes, coins from Andorra, San Marino, Vatican City and Monaco can be found in circulation. It's tough though. In 20 years, I have only found two in circulation (no roll hunting). Both 50c from San Marino.

As mentioned above, the inhabitants of Europe collect commemorative coins of 2 euros + any coins from the countries of the Vatican, Andorra, San Marino (coins from these countries are valued higher). You can also hunt for mint sets. For example, the full set of 2022.
I know that recently Germany has started to issue 5 euros, France seems to be the same. But 5 euro coins are issued only commemorative.
