I'm with NS on this one.
Personally I wouldn't purchase these for more than 2 bucks each.

Well to be blunt... I'm not rich. Most the coins I get are either from pocket change, collected by freinds or ebay. So I wasn't expecting millions. And I doubt I'm gonna get to many non cleaned, good conditions shiny ones on this budget... so while I know cleaning is bad. There's no value left basically? Sooo it's point less without a huge budget?

Whether or not they have been cleaned, these are both in nice shape,  the 1916 is XF, the 1919 in AU, but the retail value is much higher than estimates above in my opinion. According to PCGS coinfacts, the Retail value of these is for the 1916 $15-$18 and for the 1919 $35-$45, and checking around for sold prices on these coins can give a very good estimation of value.

In my opinion, the '16 is worth between $10-$12, and the '19 may fall in the $25-30 range. Suggest checking ebay sold information for similar pieces (they do vary). Is your goal to build a full set of Mercury dimes?

 Quote: And I doubt I'm gonna get to many non cleaned, good conditions shiny ones on this budget. two pointsshiny doesn't mean good. shiny can be polished or cleaned so keep that in mind. its better to purchase a lower grade coin that would grade straight rather than a higher grade coin that is cleaned. the 1916 is worth about $5 the 1919 maybe $15 the prices listed by others here are for straight graded coins not cleaned coins hope that helps

See all those tiny scratches? That's the indicator these both have been cleaned. When shopping Mercs try to avoid cleaned coins, even if it means a coin with more circulation. I won't assign a price to these because personally I wouldn't buy them, period. Decent ones are out there, just do your homework!
