technically looks like VF35.
you have several things going on with this coin.
some areas were struck through die grease
she was banged around probably in a pocket for years
looks like she was in a flip-fold for a while and picked up PVC and someone tried to clean it up
not sure she would straight grade.

I agree with the upthread comments. I'll join the VF-35 group, and say that I do not know whether this will straight grade or receive a details designation.

I love how much detail... I'm like oo this one's pretty decent. Not to scratched. Ppl can work out the whole life story through a picture I'm sure it's just enough practice. But it just cracks me up. Ordered some 100% acetone. Gonna try my first bath.. question though.. what are you looking at specifically to say that a coins been cleaned instead of running around in someone's pockets. Both should cause lil scratches. Is it just dark spots next to high points?

what are you looking at specifically to say that a coins been cleaned instead of running around in someone's pockets. from my standpoint looking at obv is the dull reddish color especially at the rim K5-K8 toning and cheek. natural toning just does not look like that. its too flat and dull. looking at the rim area around K12 there is a clear delineation between the toning and the clean area. this would not typically happen if it was just rub from being handled, it would be consistent across all the surfaces. on the reverse you have the same dull coloration. this points to a cleaning and then the new toning is completely inconsistent. compare rev K3-K5 rim area with the rest of the coin. I'm betting the rest of the coin looked like this prior to cleaning. |
