I make sure that every day I go through one roll of quarters so this is my find of the day. I get my rolls from my local grocery store, they always look at me wierd when I ask for a roll of quarters for a roll of quarters.#128518;

Die chip. In this case, a 'broken post'. Nice.

The post prevent the strike and leaves the open device on the centers of devices. Broken off now, the void is now filled with metal. Just like other die chips, but sometimes it breaks off below the field. Then the void is filled over the top of the fields:

It can be a slow process or all at once. Just a did event. Most of the time they go unnoticed, but new ones find them as they don't know what to look for on true variety coins.

What is the difference of a die chip and a broken post issue on coin devices?
