Broken off now, the void is now filled with metal. Just like other die chips, but sometimes it breaks off below the field. Then the void is filled over the top of the fields: It can be a slow process or all at once. Just a did event. Most of the time they go unnoticed, but new ones find them as they don't know what to look for on true variety coins. What is the difference of a die chip and a broken post issue on coin devices?
