What's funny is how you get anything that you described from those pictures! You have a rusted out, beyond corroded planchet with nothing discernible from those pictures. How you see what you see is beyond me now and probably many others on this forum.

Very corroded is an understatement. No visible features, much less lettering, on either side, at least from the photos.

I kind of, sort of think I may see a King George III halfpenny, or a Connecticut or Vermont copper which kind of mimicked them. Nowhere near confident enough to say it is one though.

I'm not entirely convinced this is (or more accurately was) a coin. Quote: Can you give us the weight?  Size, thickness, weight, and specific gravity would be a good start. Another help would be to wet the surface (with distilled water) and photograph it. Sometimes that helps with contrast.
