These sort of things are harder to tell my first thought was damage but it could be Struck Through Grease on the neck area and the grease is retained.

What's throwing me off on this one is the copper is showing through on the neck yet the marks are really shallow compared to the heavier hits you can see that are not showing copper. First picture I'm at damage second picture I'm at struck through retained lol

I'm sensing post-strike damage, perhaps of an 'abrasive' lateral nature (not a blunt force hit). Would like to see the coin in-hand (and that's not going to happen).
