But then you think, "im-pasta" so you get hungry and realize you have stared too long into two pennies and need a second opinion?! I should go to bed but sharing this for opinions and answers into my Hangry Bedtime Mystery, Penny Edition. As for the difference in the looks of your coins, as already mentioned, they are more than likely from different dies. There are lots of things that could affect the looks of the coin though. An older die will often times, have mushy, fatter, more spread out look and sometimes the opposite, a thinner look, from being over polished, through the life of the die that created it. Slightly Grease Filled Dies will sometimes make the devices look thinner too. You may also want to check out these sites for doubled dies, between the three, there were over thirty DDO's, better pics would be needed to help with that though.
