Hello,

I admit the large cent variations seem rather confusing for me to understand. I'm going to take my shot though with this 1892 and deem it an obverse 2. What do you think?

Do the E's have a small/short cross-latch on the inside serif? If so, then a 2 and a 2 with the full N in Regina as well.

I think they do. The e's you are referring to are in the DEI and Regina.

So how in the heck to tell the difference between obv 2 and obv 4? They both appear to have short cross E in Regina?

A 4 will have the smooth, rounded chin/throat like an Obv 1

I could stare at those 2 obv for hours and still not get it. The chins look exactly the same to me and I'm using coinsandcanada.

Both of the photos in this thread are the same coin, just a little better picture and note the folded/creased chin/throat. Take a look at Charlton that shows the different Obverses. The 1 and 4 have a smooth, rounded chin/throat. The 2 and 3 have a crease/fold in the throat/chin. The 3's with have a large vertical crossmember on the E's on the Obv. The 1, 2, and 4 have short regular crossmember E's. Surely you have any Charlton that shows the different Obv types for large cents. Don't believe everything that you see in CaC.
