Your feedback is appreciated. This isn't an inclusion, a zinc bubble or metal moved from the surround area of the coin. Tried pressing the occlusion with a tooth pick and there is no deformation. Looks to me this imperfection was stamped into the coin. The imperfection isn't what I have seen referenced before - staple or cloth. Close inspection from every angle this appears to be small twisted pieces of metal. Do the professionals have any ideas?

Thanks

PS: It's not a snot rocket either.

I'm thinking a die gouge/pock--a blemish in the die.

Looks like a zinc dust accumulation on the planchet before the coin was plated, and is under the plating. Not a plus for the coin.

Thanks for the feedback. Never heard of a zinc dust accumulation before. Nonetheless, it's cool enough for me to keep in my meager the collection.

Very common on the 1980's zinc cents:

They later figured out years later it was a poor rinse before the plating:

If it were, it would be coming out of the nose, not the mouth.
Anyways
It looks like plating bubbles to me.

You guys know the coin plating process far better than me. From what I've seen of zinc bubbles and a poor rinse, the bubbles manifest in a more widespread manner over the surface of the coin. I don't seen any evidence of zinc bubbles anywhere else on this coin. Wasn't aware that the zinc dust accumulates in clumps and that is a possibility for this issue. As for snot rockets, unless you have a snout, g=GM/2

Pss: cannot believe I'm arguing snot rocket trajectories with another adult. LOL

The Zinc has the propriety to accumulate dust and oxide very fast. The dust we say in fact it is zinc oxide in a form of a white powder. Sometimes before the plating it is not well clean, then will give those effect to the coins. The rolls of the planchet are not done in the mint facilities, so the rolls could have big delay to the delivery and will stay outside and oxide.
