So during one of the many trips over to my parents house, here in the last month, checking on my dad, I run across this crown royal bag, half full of some pretty nice pennies, none older than '98, tucked into the back of a filing cabinet! For whatever reason, it's mostly early '90's through '98, some '80's, then few less '70's, plus a cpl wheats!, so I'm assuming it was put there sometime in '98. And it has some really nice 98, 97, 96, & 95's! Among em was this lil beauty! I've found all the markers in the MDS of 003 on coppercoins, just wanted to see what yall think?

Unfortunately, your coin is not the 1995 D 1 DO-003

http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=mds

Your coin shows no doubling, especially on the Motto.

* I found one of these a few years ago in a Customer Wrapped Roll of Pennies and they are extremely
rare, but they are out there!*

Good Luck and Keep Looking!

I agree with chuckster, that this is not 1995D-1DO-003. Even with the fuzzy close up pics, you would be able to see that particular doubling. There are others that do not have that kind of spread but because of your pics, cannot tell. I have noticed there are a lot of coins from this era that have light Grease Filled Dies, that tend to give the coins devices, a slightly distorted look, that may be what you have but cannot tell from these pics.

agree not the big doubled die, FS-103.

the doubling you might be seeing maybe caused by plating issues

good luck on future finds

That doubling on the date and LIBERTY is Die Deterioration Doubling,
one of the worthless type types of doubling.

CCB420,
Please work on taking better photos, the better the photos you post the better we can help you. I agree that your coin is not a doubled die,it looks like DDD to me. Here are pics of the DDO-003 http://doubleddie.com/506234.html
You might want to post on the photo section of CCF your set up and ask for tips on taking better photos.

I know the pics are a bit fuzzy, I'll keep trying, it's been a lil bit since I've done this, I'm a lil rusty! But I don't know, it looks almost identical to the MDS photos, plus with 3 markers found....thought for sure I'd lucked up! I'll try to get some better pics, but really need better equipment!

My setup, no need for pics, it's a Samsung galaxy s10, sometimes with a pocket loupe over the lens

You need to remember, your best marker, is the variety itself, the others are just helpers and usually just to nail down the stage. Take your time with the pics, sometimes it will take several shots to get one, nice, clear pic. Just like everything else with coins, it's about time and experience, taking good photos, are no different, than the rest of the hobby.

Could there be any LDS photos? I can actually see remnants of that scratch the left of "IN" when hold up to light just right

Agree with the Die Deterioration Doubling observations.

CCB420,
You need to find the variety first, then match die markers.
You can buy a clip-on magnifier for cheap on ebay or Amazon.

Sure looks like DD to me,

Quote:
none older than '98

I was confused at first. (still early in the morning) But I'm sure you meant "nothing newer than a '98"

That is correct, no date later than 98! My bad, you were picking up what u ws putting down, it was before daylight when I was starting topic!, but yes there are no 1999's or anything from 21st century inside the bag, plus the '98's and most '97's look brand new

And I kinda thought that's what I was doing, pulled coin out saw something that looked a lil "off", then looked up my yr & mint, that's when I saw their pic of date, next to the list of DDO's, looked exactly like mine, then found markers?
