to the CCF That is PMD ( Post Minting Damage) The Obverse has been ground of. Worth 5 cents if you can get someone to take it.

it has a front (obverse) - it is the almost blank side of this coin. look dead center - that is part of the design that was not ground off - probably where the user was holding on to it as it was being ground down.

Yes, post-strike damage. Might want to hold onto it as a fun curiosity.

Low weight should confirm that the obverse was ground off.

Lack of rims is the biggest indicator this is a victim of post mint damage. to the CCF!

I have a Shield missing the reverse and a buffalo missing the buffalo. Both are TPG and the error is essentially a MASSIVE lamination where rather than just a small peel of the coins goes missing, half the coin goes missing. In both of these, the "texture", if you will, if very different than the Jefferson above. There is no sign of being tooled or ground down; there are no circular line or abrasions. On the buffalo, there is a faint ghosting of the buffalo present. The Shield has a rougher texture from the original manufacturing process which would be pretty tough to replicate after the fact.
