I came across this 1950 D, checked the reverse and noticed what I believe is MD in the motto. Question: Is it common for Machine Doubling to rotate? If you look at the top of the 2nd U in PLURIBUS it appears the tops of serif is aligned and as you progress down the U the spread widens and appears to have rotated a couple degrees. Curious if that is common in MD.

Thanks

It would not appear to be rotated, the coin just jumped to the west and took a second hit, it's the same direction, throughout.

I'll have to agree, sometimes between strikes the collar can rotate a tiny bit if the machinery holding it is out of tolerance.

Thank you for the responses Dearborn and -makecents-. Some responses are far more helpful than others.

Those are good pics that clearly show what you are seeing @nyi. The only thing that I would add to the conversation is that it looks to me like the obv die was getting pretty tired. The letters of TRUST in particular are starting to bleed into the rim.
