The best I can figure out with my limited knowledge is that this is a die chip.

A nice complex of die cracks, forming the conditions for a retained interior die break. A nice aspect of the cracked skull features of some wheat cents--especially the '55. Signature die chip on the left wheat stalk (reverse) too.

I'd just call it a die break. The crack is usually seen all around on a RIDB.

Note the die crack line around the outside edge of the break?
