Hi!
I have this bicentennial quarter, very dark and damaged and I can't decipher the mint mark. Any idea's? S? D?

Also, I don't know why it was damaged so badly. How do we feel about the quality/patina? It looks like it was attacked.

Thank you!

When a coin is damaged that much, it has no value over face.

what do you do with road kill? You push it aside and move on. This coin has been in the road as well.

If it is an S mintmark, could it be a silver proof? What do the edges look like? Do you see a copper center?

Just one scratch will turn a coin into a cull coin. This was over kill for anything on this coin. Just a spender.
