Not a doubled ear. On the doubled ears, the lobes are enlarged and showing doubled lobes on this year:

Guys, first I did add the wrong pics, 1985 is incorrect. Second I am aware of the look of a Double Ear penny, I was simply asking on the 1984 penny if this could possible another version of a double ear?

Well, as for me, I would have to say no. I still think that the ear just took a hit. The entire area looks a bit flattened from circulation.

Make a side by side comparison of a normal ear and your coin. You will see the ear is normal for that design. On a doubled ear the size will be enlarged. It is that way on all of them doubled ears.
(Enlarge the images to see these better)

Note on these, all the hub doubling is raised on the design/fields of the coins. Contact and die wear can affect normal die coins. The doubling on a doubled die is on the die itself. All the coin examples of that die will show the same spread of the doubled die on them. Note on your coin, the top part of the design is flattened from circulation. That is what you are seeing on your coin.
