So this weighs right and the diameter is correct but I know these are often faked... Any thoughts?

Here are two better pictures. I doubled checked the weight and diameter and it pings well.

@roma, how about the specific gravity? That is one of my go-to tests to determine the alloy of a particular coin.

@Spence, I am so terrible at the specific gravity test, I try to cheat by getting opinions on the forum. It's dimensions and weight are exact and it pings; I cannot find any indications of plating or a cast replica. I'm hoping someone who knows the coin can say 'fake because' or ... I'd much prefer someone to say 'real because . . . '. I'll sit down and try the SGT again some time, but after I've exhausted the collective knowledge on the forum! haha.

Ok fair enough. Is the thickness also correct? And I'm assuming that a strong magnet isn't attracted to it—is that right?

@Spence, I should have said that. Yes. It is about 2mm and non-magnetic. I'll include that next time! thanks.

I know these are faked because I have one in my collection. Just based on what has been said, your coin is more true-like than false-like. My counterfeit coin has the same dimensions as yours but mine is 3 grams light. SG is 7.26 (much too low). My good coin tests all in the normal range and does have diamagnetic properties, while my bad coin does not. A suspended N-52 magnet is not a bad quick check for silver. The take away from the suspended magnet test is that if no diamagnetic reaction happens at all, that points to being not silver.

Thanks @albert, I'm kinda of leaning toward this coin being an authentic specimen. It has much more leaning toward true-like thank false-like as you say; also a strange date to fake, wouldn't it be? There were 24+ million of these minted.

I see no reason to indicate that it's not authentic.
