Brand new to this forum and coin collecting. Came across this last week. Found in a buddy's house who passed away recently as I was packing his stuff up. He had 100+ wheat pennies from 1909-1958 but didn't collect anything but those. Guess I was lucky to find this coin in such good condition. Anyone wanna suggest what it would be graded at since I'm clueless. Also would it be worth sending off to be graded? Thanks for your replies in advance

Attractive coin, but doesn't look to be worth more than face value. Always best to show both sides of a coin when starting a thread.

My apologies. Thanks for telling me. My coffee hasn't kicked in yet I guess. Wasn't thinking. I just a video where saw one of the same condition sold for $8,800 at Heritage Auction. Had my hopes up for a minute. Thanks

Given the posted pics, I'm seeing a common--low mileage '62 Memorial cent. The spot of corrosion just off the 2 in 1962 isn't helping, Would be a good album hole filler until better comes long. Worth one cent. I wouldn't suggest submitting for grading. It's likely in the high AU range.
Rest in Peace

To CCF , nice looking find , looks low MSBN with a touch of red . That small spot near the rim by the 2 is concerning to me too . As mentioned not a candidate to send in for grading .

The US mint produced 606,045,000 1962 Lincolns in Philadelphia that year, a massive amount of which were saved in rolls by collectors. Wonder how much space 6 million dollars worth of Lincoln cents take up...that is 4,155,276 pounds of them at 3.11 grams each.

You may want to avoid videos that sensationalize the values of coins. They depend on the number of views to get money from sponsors and stretching the truth is a common tactic to get people to watch. While some coin videos can be 100% legit, they are the exceptions.

The coin in question is a PCGS MS67+ RED example of which only 12 exist with 1 coin higher at MS68. You have no chance of just finding a coin of this grade in pocket change or in most amateur collections.

The coin that sold for $8,812 on 1/27/2014 can be seen here https://coins.ha.com/itm/lincoln-ce...ot=1&x=0&y=0 but it should be noted that the current PCGS price guide lists this grade at $1,325. The single MS68 known has a PCGS guide value of $10,000.

It seems to be a trend in these videos to advise collectors to look for coins that are unique or almost so.

They produce this missive production because San Francisco Mint was temporary close. I agree with YOKO.
