Here's a coin I haven't seen on the forum. It's graded EF-45 by NGC and I bought it at bullion price awhile back. Does anyone have any comments or information about this gold coin type? Is the 1831 a common date in the series?

Krause lists both KM#50.1 (mintage 410,915) and KM#50.2 (1,000,000) for this date, without differentiating between them. Both are among the higher mintages of their respective series, and values are similar.

Both are of the same weight and fineness (3.5g, 0.9830), and mention is made of size variance between 20.5-21.5mm.

1831 is a year in which there was a higher demand to golden ducats, so there are excisting 1830 coins which were given in 1831 a new date. These coins were initially used for trade with Baltic and Scandinavian countries. However, I believe this is the common version of 1831.
In Holland, auctionprice is 200-250 euro, 1831 struck over 1830 is 600 euro.
