Greetings Wise ones,

I found this 1994 D Jefferson nickel while hunting through some change, and it looks quiet odd to me is this an error or damage? And also does this coin have FS. As always I appreciate your wisdom and insights.

I've provided a few different sets of images with different lighting

No FS=full steps.
Weight? I think it is PMD.

@ami, when I crop, enlarge, and enhance one of your pics, it doesn't look like those all steps stay separated across their entire length, but the pic is a bit pixelated. If you post a nice close-up, then we might be able to tell for sure. Thx.

obverse may have been sanded down, and the pics don't have enough detail to be sure, but using the Q. David Bowers approach that might be full step, not that it matters because the obverse renders this coin not in collector condition

If the weight is 5 Grams, then it had a sever grease issue.
If the weight is less than 5 Grams, then the coin was altered. Check the weight and you will have the correct answer. (Reverse looks normal) I feel the weight will be under weight.
