Chinese Holed Coin, Unknown Date/Type (Id: Late 18th Century Chinese Cast Cash)

JOE Valued Member United States 164 Posts	Posted 02/16/2009 2:17 pm Another coin pulled from a grab bag, These Chinese coins baffle me completely, I tried identifying it myself but theres around 100 pages for these things and they all look identical Would it be possible also to ask for it's grade/value? Buzzard Valued Member United States 156 Posts	Posted 02/16/2009 10:53 pm It is from the Qing Dynasty emperor Gao Zong (1736-1795), who had the period title of Qian Long. It was cast at one of the four branches of the Beijing Board of Revenue mint. I can't tell which branch due to the level of wear. From the fishhook-like shape of the right-hand character at the top, it looks to be from the latter part of Qianlong's reign, 1774-1795. Report this Post to the Staff
