on my 2017 d dime is this damage after the mint and on the leaf the stem looks broken to me

@pris, yes that looks like circulation damage to me rather than a mint error. The leaves and right stem seem to have taken a couple hits.

Can't see how that could happen during the striking of the coin
so the alternative is that it is damage.
