Wills post here, http://goccf.com/t/425384 , inspired me to photograph my two die examples.
One is the same as his and the other is a different die pair. These both came from the same uncirculated roll. That roll also contained my example of the 57-D re-engraved tail feather coin. A good roll !

The bottom example has a RPM on the upper serif. A first I thought they were from the same die, but spotted the RPM on just one of them.

Very nice pieces! I've picked one of these with the split serifs on the mint mark but didn't know it had two different dies. I'll have to keep a lookout for the other! Also, that re-engraved tail feather is a rare coin and hardly ever seen, congratulations. There is only 5 graded by PCGS.

@coinhunter27 PCGS has graded 5 but the very first one they graded was improperly attributed. The owner of that coin paid several thousand for at best a $12 dollar coin. I picked the first ever graded and attributed. Paid $5 and it sold for $4.5K. I just sold the second on ebay. Both were the AU55 examples. I've owned near 100 of the FS-501's and just sold a MS 66, now a pop 2/1, with the higher being a 66+. I'd grade Stonemans FS-901 as either a 64 or 65. If 65 it'd be the finest known. To get the 65, it would have to be submitted without the variety added. PCGS is supposedly tougher on the grade when also attributing the variety. For several years the top for the FS-501 was MS 64. Now the top is near 67.
