ok on this 2017 D nickel could that be doubling if not't what could it be the only reason that I ask is the other side it doesn't have it is it suppose to be that way

it has the look of the type of doubling usually found at the center door, have you compared it with other 2017 Ds?

The incuse marks on the coin are just contact marks. The DDR's are confined to the center of the designs on the doors. On the window, that is out of the target zone. You might check other examples to see if they all have that, or if this is the only example. It might be very slight Machine Doubling if they are not all like that. On the doubled dies on the single squeeze dies, the hub doubling will be a copy of the design, not in the right area, then moved on all other devices, except on the central area of the design. (Which is not altered by the hub movement during the die creation process) So I feel this is not a DDR.
