Hey Y'all I got this 1832 Capped Bust half dollar for $130 on ebay but its well overweight at 13.55g (should be no more than 13.50g). This was sold on ebay as genuine (not replica). I suspect it to be fake, can anyone confirm? THANK YOU!! 🙏;

The angle of the reverse threw me off.

It looks genuine to me. The weight of 13.55g is within tolerance, and the coin is an exact match to O-118. However, it does look like it's had an old cleaning.

Looks good to me. .05g difference is within the accepted tolerance.

I do not know the tolerance for this coin, but I would think that .05 gram perhaps OK. Only 0.03% over max. (1 in 300 approx.)
I am not saying scales used were not OK, but evidence so far provides the the reason why need to confirm with known accurate scales.
I am inclined to agree old cleaning, but it has re toned rather gracefully since then.

The weight is not a concern but the stars on the right side of the Bust don't look correct.

Quote: stars on the right side of the Bust don't look correct. They don't look correct because they are fully struck up. Pretty unusual for a bust half to have sharp stars.

As a caution, tread lightly with capped bust halves. If you become obsessed, you might contract bust half fever!! I am dreadfully sick with the fever!
