I picked this up at the annual "Bay State Coin Show" in Marlborough, MA, today. I didn't even realize I was missing this note from my currency type set until I saw it for sale: I already owned the Series 1913 $50 Gold Certificate and just never noticed that the Series 1922 was slightly different (the Series 1922 has text over the "50" on the obverse, while the Series 1913 doesn't). For comparison, here is my Series 1913: [And, yes, the Series 1922 is in much nicer condition and cost a lot more...]

Great addition, congrats!
BTW, you probably already know this, but there are similar small design differences between the 1907 and 1922 series $10 and the 1905,1906 and 1922 series $20 gold certificates...

I am aware of the differences between the Series 1907 and 1922 $10 Gold Certificates and own one of each. I also have a Series 1906 and 1922 $20 Gold Certificate. I wasn't aware there was also a Series 1905 (or, if I was, I have forgotten)... OK, I just looked it up. I think I was aware of it, but it is significantly more rare and expensive than the Series 1906. Perhaps it's something I can keep an eye out for at future shows.

The "Technicolor" $20 is really in a class by itself.

Quote: The "Technicolor" $20 is really in a class by itself. Yep. Every year at the show I always head over to the guy who specializes in currency and ask if he has a technicolor. I've gotten a lot of nice stuff from him over the years, but no luck with that on yet.

"Technicolor" usually refers to the Series 1905 $20 Gold Certificate. Even in poor condition, it can run $2000-3000.
