The area around the date seems to indicate an old cleaning that stripped the brown. Probably cleaned long ago and retoned. It would help it's case if cartwheel luster was apparent but I see none. Based on the condition, it should have luster. With an MS cent, when it doubt, look for the cartwheels! All MS cents should have some. Lincoln Cent Lover!
