Surprised to win this raw $10 Eagle this morning. Not perfect but not too bad. Would appreciate your comments. Just south of $1000 including buyers premium and shipping.

I'd say AU-55, pretty rough, but might be a straight grade. It's bullion grade anyway, and always nice to get a gold eagle!

I'll say AU-58 or MS-60. Agree just a bullion coin.

Looks AU-58 to me, but the TPG's would probably call it an MS-61.

AU-58 but TPG may give it a low MS.

I'd say you did alright on the price for sure. I'm at AU50, don't think it will grade straight.

MS-60

Gold coins are softer than either silver or bronze coins.
For this reason, they ding up more then either of the other metals.
Thus it is possible to have no wear on the high points of the designs of them, and yet on average, have more dings and scratches at equivalent grade, than for the other metals.
Some are more inclined to downgrade gold coins with the same amount of wear because of the softness of gold.

I would expect to see grade opinions in the range of AU-55 to MS-61.

I would agree with the OP's comment
"Not perfect, but not too bad".
