On the reverse the M and the E in America merged. Any ideas?

Does look to have a couple small die chips connecting the two letters.

Die crack connecting the letters...could eventually spread across the tops of the remaining letters, finally connection to the rim.

All the BS coins has the M and E touch due to the sheriff in M. in thousands I checked. Only 3 examples in proof the two letters do not touch. Was a chip in Master Die? maybe , I have not exact explanation, it is possible.

I agree with the die cracks theory as to what we are seeing on this coin.

The flare on the M & E are closer than any other letters. Any circulation hits would make it look like they were connected.

If you look closely at the inside of the right leg of the M there is something there that appears to go under that leg and curves up to the E.
Maybe a die gouge or something on the coin, like glue?

We kind of need a closeup of the ME.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.
