1946 S Error Penny? Date Mintmark And All Lettering On Obverse And Reverse Look Mushed Or Smashed.

BufordT1035 New Member United States 14 Posts	Posted 08/02/2022 9:58 pm On this 1946S cent all the lettering to include the date and mintmark on both the obverse and reverse looks mushed or smashed. Lincoln's face and head looks normal in comparison. Photos are not the best but hopefully good enough that the expanded lettering can be observed. Is this considered an error or is it considered MD. Likely a combination of circulation flattening and perhaps a short period of time as a Dryer Coin. I've seen similar cents over the years--not many, but a few dozen. Report this Post to the Staff
