On this 1946S cent all the lettering to include the date and mintmark on both the obverse and reverse looks mushed or smashed. Lincoln's face and head looks normal in comparison. Photos are not the best but hopefully good enough that the expanded lettering can be observed. Is this considered an error or is it considered MD. THANX in advance for your opinions.
I'm thinking post-strike damage. Likely a combination of circulation flattening and perhaps a short period of time as a Dryer Coin. I've seen similar cents over the years--not many, but a few dozen.
