Question: Is this intended only for coins or would we include medals / tokens / bullion issues having said year as part of the design?

This one is from the specimen set. The economical way to continue the "no security feature" collection.

I haven't posted any 2022 yet as I only have Australian coins of that era and most have been posted. New Zealand is very slow in coin issues, even now the most recent coins in circulation are 2020 dated 10 and 20c. The others are limited to 2019. The only 2022 and even 2021 coins are overpriced NCLT stuff of no relevance and no use to 99.99% of the population. I mean they charge $159.95 plus $10 postage and handling for a 1 ounce silver coin with $32 worth of silver in it.
All prices in New Zealand pesos not US$.
2021 I at least have German climate coins and more Australian ones.
Generally I collect old coins rather than new.

JBuck said Quote: I am not going to do it. These topics are meant to be a world celebration. I am a not going to encourage division or isolation. I agree, but so far this thread is 70% US coins already and the rest Canda/Australia - that is not global, that is 3 Western English speaking countries. Rather than not wanting division, the thread has already headed that way - America 1st, a few western English speaking countries next and rest of the world last. The 6th edition was 70% USA and Canada, 27% UK, Australia, NZ and other Europe and only 3% non western countries. The worst year 1936 saw some 53 posts and 44 of them showed American half dollars. Not disagreeing but saying that we are already quite individual in our tastes. Pre 1800 is more interesting, but again its still mostly Europe or its colonies (like Mexico city and Lima), I was not seeing many Indian, Chinese, Japanese, SE Asian or Arabic coins in that era. The 15th century was exclusively Hungary, Flanders and some Germanic states. At the very least we should be clear 1 coin or 1 linked set in 1/2 images per post, someone else and then you can do another coin in that year. We do not want 8 giant sized images of the same series of Half dollars or Morgans with all 3 mints like last time. Otherwise I will get my A into G and find some 2022 coins to put on this thread.

Quote:so far this thread is 70% US coins already Maybe you are going for hyperbole @pt, but by my count we are currently at 40% US, with Canada and OZ well represented (plus a recent entry from France). For sure not covering every corner of the world, but seems to me like a good start. Keep them coming!

About to up the Aussie count - but 2021 will bring some more exotic coins from me. One person referred to these coins as bubblegum coins, which had me laughing my head off. Nothing says 7th edition like a coin celebrating the fight against that scourge of Covid which struck as 6th edition was gathering steam. Australia $2 coin - Frontline fighters against Covid 19 In a way this is cheating a bit, although dated 2022, the coin emerged late in 2021 in sets (This is a set piece) but only circulated in 2022. Expect some more bubbalicious coins from me!

All due respect, 90% of Australian coins have the same bland image of her Majesty on them. The Euro coins have the denomination on the other side. You can see the ones of the Queen on my 2 entries (Its that portrait back to 2019). TM is famous for his one side of coins, he has over 17k of them - also the rules in post one allow single images. Here is the third of my Aussie Bubblegum coins - no extra Queen Portrait Aussie Alphabet Dollar - 3rd series J for Jumbuck (Aussie slang for a sheep). These coins actually circulate as well. Finally I have Steve and DG to thank for all my beautiful Australian coins.

Quote: triggersmob, why do you publish only 1 side of the coin ? I want to see everything. Hi Slerk, I have a lot of coins and I usually take only one picture to save space in my computer. Usually I just take a picture of the side with the year, just as a record. Quote: All due respect, 90% of Australian coins have the same bland image of her Majesty on them. The Euro coins have the denomination on the other side. Yes and that too. Quote: Finally I have Steve and DG to thank for all my beautiful Australian coins. Works both ways mate. Thanks for your help with Kiwi coins and others.
