@bd251 Quote: Jaunpur Sultanate billon tanka AH 885 (1480 CE) GG# J27 19.7 mm, 10.06g Nice tanka, my 1482 is from the same stable. I was reading that Husain Shah was forced to flee Jaunpur in 1479 to Kahalgaon in Bihar, where he was granted asylum by sultan Alauddin Husain Shah of Bengal and spent his last days there and even minted his own coins there. I found an excellent and fascinating read on Academia titled Shiraz-i Hind a history of Jaunpur Sultanate by Syed eJaz Hussain. It covers the history, culture, monetary usage and coinage.

Great participation for 1480! Moving backward a year, here is a Gros from Flanders (Bruges Mint) dated 1479 AD. I have attributed it as Levinson II-41.

This Double Briquet was also minted at Bruges, but one year earlier. I have attributed it as Levinson II-34.

For whatever reason, the year 1475 seems to have plentiful choices for dated coins. I'll try to post all four of mine today, but here is a pair from the German Duchy of Cleve to get us started: Half Groschen (21 mm; 1.1 g; Levinson I-138): Groschen (24 mm; 1.9 g; Levinson I-137):

Sliding this final 1475-dated coin in: a Spitzgroschen from Saxony (Levinson I-148):

Thx @jbuck. For 1474 AD, I have this Briquet from Brabant--remember to look for the single lion on the obverse. I have attributed it as Levinson II-12.
