So in a bankroll, somehow this little quarter has done....something. For being in an uncirculated roll, I have questions. Does anyone have any opinions on this?

Quote: How were the rest of the coins? Beyond beautiful. Filled up some the coin book I've been working on for my 10 year old for Christmas. Which adds more confusion.

You can barely see the 'P' MM on the obverse. I looks like there is some sort of substance on it. Did this come from the Mint (in a US Mint coin roll)? Or was it rolled by some bank or other facility somewhere? Can we see a picture of the coin roll paper?

Often I've broken out what appear to be 'uncirculated' quarters in rolls wrapped by commercial cash handling companies like Loomis, only to find that 85-90% of the coins inside look MS fresh, and the remainder are circulated--nearly all from earlier years. If 'new' coins are rolled by a regional commercial cash service, odds are good the rolls will not always be 100%.
Would love to see a pic of the wrapper, yes.

Alright yall, now I'm cringing because it was just the standard orange and white paper bank roll with this salty princess smack in the middle.
All P MM, but if they start turning because of this Lil Philly, it might turn my stomach.
But I no longer have the paper roll as I'm a picker and it was in a million pieces since I apparently cannot properly work with gloves.
I have small hands and kids gloves do not cooperate.
Thankfully these are all for my daughters book for Christmas. But now I want to whip out the chemistry set along with the microscope and slides and start some testing.

Also forgot to mention that the roll was all the same quarter. We made sure to get a couple rolls of each design thus far, just a little behind on the sorting and assembling.

Not a plus for the coin. Just a spender.

Were all of the coins of the same design?

I agree this is glue. Soak it in water first. I'm thinking water based. If not soak in acetone. It doesn't matter if the rest of the coins were nice. As ijn stated above, they're not rolled at the mint.
