I have a 1969 S Proof Gem (its slabbed, but not graded), light gold toned. There are some curious thickening on the lower part of the font on obverse. I am not sure what it is and would love your input. Thank you.
Possible partial Grease Filled Die on the bottom of the devices? They are tapered and could be wider due to grease not allowing the top of the devices to strike properly.
First thing to do on wondering is to look at PCGS to see if it is normal or not compared with examples on their site: https://www.PCGS.com/cert/33128574 1969-S FS-501 https://d1htnxwo4o0jhw.cloudfront.n...49360983.jpg Huge image. So don't open on your cell phone! There was also a RPM on that year. But they look pretty much the same size. (This one is a Cameo)
