1877 CC Trade Dollar For Thoughts

I picked this one last week.
It passed the sigma test.
Size and weight where good and the main thing that told me its real is that its variety 4.1 clashed . Has a clash in the wing and in front of the eagles neck.
I do think it will straight grade because it's a Trade dollar. Probably dipped in Acetone to get rid of the dirt. Trade dollars get graded A little easier and nothing screams cleaned in hand.
Regardless of if it straight grades or not the price was good.
77CC Trade dollars are tough especially when money does not grow on trees at my place.

Agree with F-15. The halos around stars and legends suggest some kind of cleaning but the overall look seems market-acceptable.

Nice pick up. I agree, the coin should straight grade. F15

Really? Then they are confused if that is really the designation on the label as the rest of the numismatic world agrees VF begins at 20 on the Sheldon scale.
