Quote: Mine have "shipped, yet to be picked up by USPS". I don't know but to me, shipped is "shipped", not "label printed, yet to be picked up".
Yeah, it seems they (and not just the Mint) are playing fast and loose with the rules these days. It has been "shipped" from a shelf into a box on a table.
Quote: I am very surprised about the box in came in. It is very large for a 40.6mm one ounce medal the same size as an ASE.
I alluded to it earlier. This box was used previously for two coin/medal sets. I like to imagine that they had a plan at some point to pair this with a proof or reverse proof ASE into a set... Would have been nice.
Will have to figure out how I want to store it, with that large box. That is a lot of space for one coin/medal. Mine is just "fake shipped" right now too, label printed.
Quote: The presentation box was also used for prior american liberty releases. 2017 and 2019.
This 2022 OGP is not the same as those two releases (which I also have). Those boxes are taller and filly rigid with the medal capsules placed in a wooden holder.
The 2022 medal OGP is like that used for the 2019 Pride of Two Nations and 2020 Mayflower (below). It has has a soft-plush top. The medal capsule is placed in a less rigid plastic holder.
Wherever the box for this issue came from, it is very nice, and yes very big. My medals are going to push me out the door, they all are very demanding when it comes to space. A beautiful pair of medals nevertheless, one arrive Monday, the other yesterday.
SalivateMetal channel Youtube opened his three and they are slightly off center, the rims are not the same all the way around. I passed on this coin but now regret it. Secondary market for me.
@livingwater I have 2 extra from my online purchase before I saw they were selling them at the WFOM and bought 2 there. I'll sell you one I bought online at cost + shipping if you haven't bought it secondary already.
Mods: Forgive me if this is not appropriate here and to move if necessary.
