The reverse shows no indication of the RHT strike. Please educate me. "We are all flawed, some MD and some PMD." NYI

@nyi, I'm pretty sure that these were disproven a while back. Have you looked on the error-ref website?

Yes. But I'm hoping there are opinions here that support RHT's existence. My coin certainly adds to that assumption.

Ok yes fair enough. I'm not sure how you would know though if the hardness test was performed on a struck coin at the mint versus sometime in the last 45 years by someone who was not a mint employee. It couldn't have been performed on the die itself because then all coins struck by that die would have a spherical bump on the surface. Please talk me through your thinking.

Agree totally with @John1. Would enjoy hearing what Mike Diamond has to say about RHT's. @Spence you are 100% correct. This could have been done to the coin outside the mint at anytime in the past 45 years. I know one thing for sure about this coin, the mark, wasn't done by me. It certainly would be of interest to know exact dimensions and locations on the coin of a RHT. Also, any factor that could confirm the mark is RHT, or not.

Here is the information from his site: https://www.error-ref.com/?s=RockwellAn image of the reverse could show us more. If it is pushed out on the reverse, then it is not a rockwell test coin.

Quote: Notice the shape of a real RHT is teardrop, all the pics I ever seen of the real deal looks like a teardrop. According to Error-Ref, even the supposed "real" RHT is suspect. There is no way to verify these as "real". It could be a real error like a struck through round object though.
