These are seller's images. I liked the circulated cam look. Won this in a recent auction, but I don't have it in hand yet.

I'll say VG-10. Don't agree with me because I'm consistently wrong on these.

I'm with you coinfrog. I think this is one of the most difficult series to nail down the grade. almost always you see disparity in wear and/or strike on both sides. do you net the grade? do you go with the obv? do you go with the strongest side? tip for newbies...unless you study these seriously its probably best to not purchase them unless they are slabbed.

this one I see the obv as VG10. reverse F15 so i'll net it at F12

I will have to politely disagree with you on this tip. I see many CBHs graded incorrectly all of the time by major TPGs. Edgar E. Souders wrote in Bust Half Fever and I quote, "Do not pay for someone else's opinion. If you cannot confidently grade Capped Bust halves - don't buy them."

This is a demonstration to the importance of your personal ability to grade CBHs. It would be better for you to entirely avoid the series than to place your trust in someone else's grading opinion. It is a huge financial risk.

i see your point about TPG grades as well. i'll retract that line concerning slabbing but whole heartily agree that If you cannot confidently grade Capped Bust halves - don't buy them.

i'd like to know what PCGS or NGC uses as a guideline on these and how they come to the grade they do.

Put me down for a solid F-12. Nice coin. I'd buy it at F-12 and sell it at F-12.
