Die polishing issue? Also the victim of a Coin Wrapping Machine, it looks like.

You can barely see where the FG should be.
As Coinfrog stated, probably from an overpolished die.

I found this in my grandmother's safe whom just passed. I doubt she even opened her safe in over 30 years.

She also had some Morgan dollars, Trade dollars and a couple others. I'll just put them in my ashtray then.

Your Morgan's and Trade dollars could have some value, depending on year and mint mark.
Post a clear photo of both sides, each on it's own thread of some of them and let us take a look.

Thanks, but I already know. They weigh just about 26.56 grams. I'm just going to check out a place in Long Beach, CAA that I was suggested I see with these coins.

The most common ones to look for are: 1972D NO FG, 1973D NO F, 1977D NO F, 1982P NO FG, 1983P NO FG which all have some added value. This one you posted however has damage as coinfrog mentioned already, probably that occurs when that coin is on the end of the roll. when the machine goes to make the roll crimpled, it scraped the coin.

It happens often on most dies. The sub devices are removed with a little polishing. They are just die events, that some consider different looking. But they are common events as the rest of all the affected dies will continue to strike hundreds of thousands without these sub devices. Over rated collectables to me. Eventually they will all figure it out and realize what it is and eventually move away from collecting these.

Agree with Coop 100%. These "No FG," "Floating Roof," "3 legged buffalo," etc. are all just minor die abrasion issues and are of very little interest to me personally.

Where in Long Beach?

I highly suggest showing us first, otherwise you might get taken to the cleaners.
