Damaged D.

There were no 1962 cents struck in San Francisco, proof or otherwise.

It has to be a damaged D.
That was the only mint mark in 1962.
Notice the 2 is also damaged.

"S" Mints were not started until 1968 on proof coins. During that time period the San Francisco Mint was closed. (1956-1964) Re-opened to help strike 1965-1967, 1968-S-1974-S business strike cents. and SMS 1967-1967, 1968-S forward Proof coins. So it would be impossible to be a1962-S cent. Just a damaged parking lot coin. Spender

Hard to tell with the photo, but looks like the mint mark has some PMD
