Hello folks, thought I'd introduce myself in my first post pertaining to an interesting coin I found a little over a year ago, which was actually the beginning of a new hobby that has been quite enjoyable. I have yet to seen a similar "7"

@js, first welcome to CCF. Second, that sure looks like a number 2 with the bottom smeared away, rather than a mint error. Your overall pics are great, but could you please add a nice close-up of the date? Thx.

I'm thinking large date '82 D. Not seeing evidence of a doubled die.

A few asked the weight and it's 3.1 grams. Not sure how to respond to each reply individually or if that's even an option

Thanks for all the responses and educational info to my first post. I now know there's no way it could be a "7" cause it weighs 3.1 vs 2.5. Looking at it now, after viewing a number of 1982 pennies, it's obviously a "2". As far as how this happened, I had one of my expert investigators look into it and contrary to one of our "Pillars" in the community and their " Gumball Machine theory" this coin lived more dangerously. It fell out of Matt Damon's (Jason Bourne) pocket as he was going down a flight of stairs on an Enduro Bike somewhere in Europe cause he was being chased. And as far as the doubled die, I've noticed that since I stopped drinking 21 days ago, most of my doubled, tripled and quadrupled die coins appear to be normal and my dreams of helicopters, champagne and the voice of Robin Leech narrating my day have been crushed. That's ok though... cause I'm in it for the glory!!

That does it every time.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for taking it well. Lots of times newer collectors still want a Robing Leach life style with Rambo type coins.
