Ok I'm not trying to get ahead of myself but after a few members help me tell the difference between the large and small dated 1982-d's I began going through a jar of 1959-1991 all mm Lincolns I have picked up over the years and a few are bagged some because of a date and some because of their luster and strike.. well lookie lookie at what I had bagged up in that little glass jar.. I really need advice on this one cuz I have a 1982-d large to put right next to it for comparison

Put a Lincoln Cent, older than 82 on your scale and see how much it weighs.

Check your scales. That Small Date look like a zincoin.
I can see some zinc dust on the fields.
Also the coin in the envelope has the mm in a different
location than the one in your hand.

Compare the 'WE' on the motto. That device is totally different sized on the large or small cents:

See the differences in size?
